I have been tutoring elementary school students for 2 hours each week since my freshman year. I worked with 1 or 2 students each session and helped them with any questions they had on any subject. We would also work specifically on math because that was considered a weaker area for most students. |

I am attending Harvey Mudd College in August; I intend to major in either biology or math. I am good at working with both younger students and students around my age. I have been playing the piano for 12 years and the violin for 6 years, so I do have the patience required to tutor others – I had also taught piano for 2 years before. Additionally, I enjoy helping people – I am involved in a lot of community service organizations such as American Red Cross and Key Club. I work with people differently depending on their personality and the way that they learn the best. If I were given the opportunity to tutor your student, I would make sure everything is clearly explained for him or her because I hate memorizing concepts – I strive to understand rather than memorize. |
