我有很多國際學生，或是剛移民沒幾年的學生，所以幾乎每個人都有托福的問題，也幾乎每個人都有愁眉苦臉地問我”老師~~~我一定要考托福嗎?”答案是，不一定要考 😀有哪些學生需要考呢?

1. 學生在美國高中沒有超過三年的話:換句話說，如果你是九年級之後來的話
2. 學生母語不是英文
3. 學生的高中是非英語的高中的話: 所以如果你是英國來的，就不需擔心。新加坡我就不太確定了

因為每間學校的標準不太一樣，但是如果以上這三點如果都有的話，你大概就會需要考托福了。但是從以下這幾家的名單中我們可以發現，有些學校(包括加州大學)可以用SAT或是ACT的成績抵托福成績，所以其實是有可能不考托福就申請大學的。但是考了之後，真的多很多選擇，還是不要太偷懶啦。

以下是10間，包括加州大學跟加州州立大學，對於托福的要求。托福多少分算是好成績，看過下面的數字後大家可以自己定奪看看。以下資料，按學校名稱都可接回官方網站。

University of California: Score 80 on TOEFL; OR 24 for the ACT combined English/Writing or English Language Arts; SAT 560 on the Writing section of the SAT Reasoning test; Score 3 or higher on AP Eng or AP Lit.

USC: TOEFL-100; 600 on the SAT Critical Reading; 650 on the SAT Evidence-based reading and writing; 27 on the ACT English exam

Drexel University: No mentioned of TOEFL score on the website; Score 600 on the SAT Critical reasoning; 27 on the ACT English section. 如果學校很喜歡你的話，也可能先收你，再把你分配去英語集中營。

Cal State: Score 61 on TOEFL

Pomona College: Score of 100 on TOEFL

MIT: Minimum of 90 on TOEFL, but a score of 100 is recommended

Academy of Art University: No minimum TOEFL score

Occidental College: Score of 100 on TOEFL

Harvard: Not required

NYU: No minimum score, but hint a score of 100 and above.

所謂名聲比較響亮的學校，托福基本上都是100起跳，如果你是在台灣或是中國大陸的朋友想要申請美國大學的話，托福的目標真的還是放高點比較好。

回到最一開始的問題。”老師，我一定要考托福嗎?” 答案是，不一定，但是如果你的身分有需要考托福，你又不考的話，你的SAT一定要夠好，你所能申請的大學範圍，也會小很多很多，這位同學~托福還是考一下吧
